What’s behind the name ``Tri-Pulley``

Tri-pulley was chosen after a fun open invitation brainstorming session where beautiful concerned citizens came together and got introduced to the project before coming up with names that could fit its mission and purpose.

Why did we call it “Tri-pulley”?

– The obvious Tripoli city where the project was born and where we want to focus as a first stage, along with the now added affected areas of Beirut explosion

– The Lebanese “salbeh” and jeux de mots that will make people smile

– TRI for the 3 pillars of the project Dignifying/Multiplier/Impact

– TRI for the 3 actors in the project Give (donor)/ Act (the one who will work)/ Rise (the one who will benefit from the project)

– Pulley for the effect of lifting each other to get out of heavy loads of problem = multiplier/ impact

– Pulley by definition being a gear, a joint which can relate to the mission of Joining/connecting

– Tripoli for being the first city where this project is being implemented, for the “3arrous el thawra” that will pull up other cities with it in case we decide to replicate in other cities on the long run. (Update: Beirut Explosion made us already replicate concept in Beirut)

– Tri = Tree-pulley can be used at some point if we do environmental fundraising event

– Trip-pulley: can be used at some point if we do cultural/culinary/historical trips fundraising event

– Because of the face Tripolitans made when we gave this option 🙂

"Thank you everyone who came to the session, and those who sent their suggestions online!
Thank you Josephine for thinking of the winning name! Tri-pulley it is!"
